What is Conto Progetto?
It is a deposit account that allows you to invest your savings without tying them to pre-established durations. Based on the amounts in the account, interest is paid every three months. The account can be funded with one or more payments according to your needs and you can withdraw your sums at any time, even partially, without any type of penalty. You will receive the credit to your support account after 32 calendar days, during which you will continue to accrue interest.
Who can open Conto Progetto?
Conto Progetto is reserved for natural persons "consumers" of age, fiscally and physically resident in Italy and holders of a bank or postal current account with an Italian IBAN to be indicated as a support account.
How do I open Conto Progetto?
You can open Conto Progetto by connecting to the website www.bancaprogetto.it, selecting the "Private" link and then entering the page dedicated to the Conto Progetto to proceed with onboarding, clicking on the "Open Conto Progetto" button.
After completing the registration process you will have to sign the contract via advanced electronic signature and make an "acknowledgment transfer" (minimum €1) with reason: "Opening Conto Progetto", from the support account to Conto Progetto coordinates received by email.
If it is necessary to indicate it, the BIC/SWIFT code of Banca Progetto S.p.A. is: BPTTITMMXXX.
You can also open Conto Progetto together with Conto Key (see Conto Key FAQ section).
Can I jointly register Conto Progetto?
Yes, the account can be registered in the name of a maximum of 2 (two) holders. Each of the owners can operate separately.
How many Conto Progetto reports can I open?
Each Customer can be the owner of a maximum of 2 (two) Accounts, one Account in a single name and one jointly with another person.
Can I open Conto Progetto with a connected legal guardian/support administrator?
Yes, but the request to open Conto Progetto must be made with the data of the actual owner via the online procedure accessible from the following link: https://contoprogettodigital.bancaprogetto.it
Subsequently, Conto Progetto can be managed by the legal guardian/support administrator by sending the following additional documentation via e-mail to the address servizioclienti@contoprogetto.it:
- Copy of a valid identity document of the legal guardian/support administrator
- Copy of the tax code of the legal guardian/support administrator
- Legal Guardian/support administrator's mobile number
- Legal Guardian/support administrator's email address

Can a resident abroad open Conto Progetto?
No, Conto Progetto is aimed exclusively at individuals with physical and tax residence in Italy.
What is advanced electronic signature (FEA)?
The advanced electronic signature (FEA) is a type of digital signature and has the same legal validity as a handwritten signature on paper.
The FEA is made available to the customer free of charge by the Bank for signing documents relevant to the relationship with the bank.

When is Conto Progetto considered active?
Conto Progetto is considered active from the moment in which, having completed the opening procedure, you receive a welcome communication, via an e-mail confirming the activation of Conto Progetto, also containing the user code (username) and, at the same time, via SMS, the password to access home banking.
The effectiveness of the contract is in any case subject to the positive outcome of the Customer's due diligence procedure.
Can I exercise the right to change my mind within 14 days of opening Conto Progetto?
Yes, in order to exercise the right to change your mind after opening Conto Key, you must communicate the request to servizioclienti@contoprogetto.it indicating your current account number and taking care to attach a copy of a valid identity document.
How can I close Conto Progetto?
To request the closure of Conto Progetto, you will need to complete and sign the "Modulo di Estinzione" present within home banking in the "News" section or at the following link https://www.bancaprogetto.it/privati/raccolta/conto-progetto#modulistica. You will then need to send it, together with a valid identity document, via the following channels:
- PEC to servizioclienti@pec.bancaprogetto.it
- e-mail associated with the account at customer servizioclienti@contoprogetto.it
- registered letter with return receipt to the address: Banca Progetto S.p.A. - Customer Service - Via Bocchetto 6 20123 Milan (MI)
In the event that Conto Progetto has a joint account holder, his identity document must also be sent and the form must also contain his signature.
The sums will be credited to the support account on the first working day after 32 days from the date of receipt of the request.
How much does it cost to open a project account?
The opening of Conto Progetto is free of charge.
Tax charges (stamp duty and withholding tax on interest) are borne by the Customer, as required by current legislation, unless waived by commercial promotions.
How many support accounts can I register?
Only one support account can be registered, even if Conto Progetto is jointly held.
You have the possibility to modify the support account by completing and sending the "Modulo di aggiornamento dati cliente" to the address servizioclienti@contoprogetto.it, which you will find in the Customer area in the (news) section or https://www.bancaprogetto.it/privati/raccolta/conto-progetto#modulistica attaching a copy of the identity document.
What is the recognition transfer?
Il bonifico di riconoscimento è un metodo che le Banca utilizza per verificare l'identità del cliente quando apre un conto online ed è il primo bonifico ordinario che devi effettuare sul nuovo conto progetto dal conto corrente bancario o postale con IBAN italiano, che hai indicato in fase di registrazione come "conto di appoggio".
Se il conto di appoggio comunicato nella registrazione è Conto Key, non dovrai effettuare il bonifico di riconoscimento.
Il bonifico deve rispettare le seguenti caratteristiche:
1. In caso di Conto Progetto mono intestato, il “bonifico di riconoscimento” può avvenire solamente dal conto corrente bancario o postale con IBAN italiano che hai comunicato come conto d’appoggio in fase di apertura del Conto Progetto.
2. In caso di Conto Progetto cointestato, è possibile effettuare:
un “bonifico di riconoscimento” da un conto corrente cointestato ad entrambi i titolari di Conto Progetto, purché sia stato indicato come conto d’appoggio;
oppure
due “bonifici di riconoscimento” da due conti correnti intestati rispettivamente a ciascun titolare del Conto Progetto, purché uno dei due bonifici provenga dal conto d’appoggio indicato nel contratto.
Within how many days do I have to make the recognition transfer?
The maximum deadline is 30 days from the date of completion of the online activation request.
How to fund Conto Progetto?
L’alimentazione di Conto Progetto può avvenire:
- dal conto di appoggio collegato a Conto Progetto;
- da altri conti intestati esclusivamente al Cliente titolare di Conto Progetto;
- nel caso di Conto Progetto cointestato, il bonifico di alimentazione del Conto Progetto deve provenire da un conto intestato unicamente ad uno degli intestatari o cointestato ad entrambi.
In caso di bonifici provenienti da conti intestati a terzi o cointestati con soggetti diversi dai titolari di Conto Progetto, la Banca procederà alla restituzione.
When does interest start to accrue?
Interest begins to accrue from the date of activation of Conto Progetto, which coincides with the date of receipt of the user code (username) and password to access the Customer area.
Are the advertised interest rates gross or net?
The interest rates advertised are gross of withholding tax, which currently stands at 26%.
When are Conto Progetto interests paid?
The accrued interest is credited to Conto Progetto every quarter and when the account is closed.
How do I calculate interest on Conto Progetto?
Interest can be obtained by applying the following formula: capital x interest x days of stock / 36,500.
Interest is calculated on the actual days between the first day of the quarter (in case of a positive account balance) or the credit value date (in case of subsequent transfers) and the settlement date.
Will interest accrue during the 32 days of waiting for the funds to be transferred?
Yes, with Conto Progetto the interest also accrues during the technical repayment period of 32 days.
Are there any amount limits for outgoing bank transfers?
No. The only limit refers to the balance available on your Conto Progetto at the time of booking the sums.
How much is it and who pays stamp duty?
Currently, the stamp duty is equal to 0.20% on the sums deposited and is paid by the Customer, except for promotions.
Stamp duty is calculated on the stock at the end of the reporting period or on the stock in existence at the time of settlement.
How to access the Conto Progetto customer area (home banking)?
To access the Conto Progetto Customer Area, you can go directly to the website www.bancaprogetto.it in the "Private Area" section.
Access to the home banking portal requires the use of three authentication factors:
- alphanumeric user code (username)
- password
- PIN
To use the Banca Progetto Mobile App you will need to request authorization by email by writing to servizioclienti@contoprogetto.it, attaching a copy of your identity document.
If Conto Key (the Banca Progetto current account) has also been opened, access will take place via username/password and the authorization provided by the Banca Progetto app.
Do I have to change my password the first time I access the Customer Area?
Yes, the password must be changed on first access taking into account the following rules:
- the minimum length is 8 characters
- must be changed at least every 180 days
- it cannot contain the user's username, name or surname or date of birth
The system does not allow you to enter credentials that have already been used in the past, as the last 10 credentials entered are kept in memory.
The internet home banking system is case sensitive, therefore the password must be created considering the distinction between lowercase and uppercase characters.
What to do if I don't receive the credentials to access the Customer area?
You can contact Banca Progetto Customer Service on 800.970.663 or write to servizioclienti@contoprogetto.it to request that your access credentials be sent.
What to do if I no longer remember the password to access the Customer Area?
To request a reset of your credentials, you can contact us by writing to assistenzahomebanking@bancaprogetto.it from the e-mail address associated with your account, indicating your username in the subject. Alternatively, you can contact Banca Progetto Customer Service on 800.970.663.
Why can't I access the Customer Area?
If ten consecutive access attempts are made using an incorrect password and/or pin (even through multiple connections), the service is automatically blocked. To unlock the service you must contact the Bank's Customer Service at 800.970.663.
Where can I find the digitally signed Conto Progetto contract?
The signed contract is sent to the customer's e-mail address and re-sending can be requested by writing to servizioclienti@contoprogetto.it
How do I renew my expired identity document?
To update your identity document you must proceed from home banking in the YOUR DETAILS menu in the Document renewal > Identity document section.
How do I renew the due diligence questionnaire?
To update the due diligence it is necessary to proceed from home banking in the YOUR DATA menu in the Document renewal section > Customer Due Diligence Questionnaire.
We will periodically ask you to update the data in the due diligence questionnaire.
When is the account statement available? Where can I find it?
The account statement is made available within the Customer area, in the COMMUNICATIONS section, at the end of each interest payment period.
Communications beyond one year are available by setting a search period before the last year by clicking on the back arrow on the calendar.
How can I withdraw the sums from Conto Progetto?
Through the "Funds Transfer" function of your home banking or mobile app, you can request the withdrawal, even partial, of the sums available in your Conto Progetto at any time. The bank transfer request is valid as a reservation of the bank transfer order, which will be registered and debited by the Bank 32 calendar days after receipt of the request. If the thirty-second day coincides with a non-working day, the sums will be credited to the support account within the first working day following the registration and debit date.
From homebanking:
You can carry out a fund transfer through the specific function available within Home Banking: Operations > Fund Transfer > Proceed.
From Mobile App:
You can make a fund transfer using the specific function available within the app: Menu > Payments > Fund Transfer.
How can I recall a funds transfer?
From homebanking:
To recall a fund transfer, log in to home banking and click on My situation > Payment list > Select from the calendar the date of entry of the operation to be canceled > Open the detail of the operation via the drop-down menu on the right > Scroll to the bottom and click the RECALL button.
From Mobile App:
- Menu > payments
- Funds Transfer > archive
- Search for the payment you want to recall and enter the details
- Click on the three dots at the top right
- Click on recall
SMS alert: how can I activate it from the Customer area?
To activate notifications via SMS, log in to home banking and enter the EDIT PROFILE – NOTIFICATIONS – ALERT HOME BANKING section.
From the mobile app, the functionality is available from Profile – Notifications and Communications – Notifications.
You will be able to select the notifications to activate from those available in the list and then confirm the operation by clicking on PROCEED (or next on the Mobile App).
How are personal data processed?
The data is processed in accordance with current legislation on the protection of personal data (EU Regulation 2016/679, so-called “GDPR”). For further information, please refer to the “Conto Key Privacy Policy” document on this site in the Transparency section.
Where can I find the average balance for ISEE purposes?
The average balance for ISEE purposes is indicated on all account statements with reference to 31 December of each year and they can be consulted in the COMMUNICATIONS section of the home banking customer area or from the mobile App by clicking on Menu - Documents - Communications Archive. By selecting the search period, you can consult the desired document.
How reliable is Banca Progetto: what is your CET1?
All information regarding the CET1 ratio data is published on the official Banca Progetto website in the Investor > Financial Statements and Reports section, where the latest available Consolidated Financial Statements are published.
How protected are the sums deposited in Conto Progetto?
As a result of Banca Progetto's membership of the "Interbank Deposit Protection Fund guarantee system" (so-called FITD), each Customer is guaranteed maximum coverage of the amount of €100,000.00 of the availability resulting from Conto Progetto.
In the event that a depositor holds multiple accounts at the same bank, the maximum coverage of €100,000 applies to the accumulation of registered and jointly held deposits. The guaranteed sums are intended for each individual subject.
Which documents need to be sent to open an inheritance procedure in the event of the death of an owner/co-owner?
In order to open an inheritance procedure it is necessary to send:
- a copy of the identification documents of all possible heirs
- the declaration in lieu of the deed of notoriety
- the death certificate of the deceased
- a copy of the deceased's identity document
Once the documentation has been received, we will issue the bank certification of the balance present in Conto Progetto.
The sum can then be released once a certified copy of the declaration of succession or the declaration of exemption from succession has been received with the related liquidation instructions signed by the heirs to extinguish Conto Progetto account.
